What We Offer- Salary: $23.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for all accounts payable functions within the organization.
Essential Responsibilities- Review the AP Aging report each month with the Senior Accountant and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Review invoices for accurate coding per the approved budget.
- Work with Procurement to resolve issues associated with POs and pending invoices.
- Verify invoice accuracy and match it to the purchase order; communicate with vendors regarding any invoice discrepancies and credits due.
- Ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner in accordance with vendor terms.
- Process the weekly check runs and verify that all check numbers are properly accounted for and that unused checks are properly secured.
- Review the recurring invoices list and ensure all have been received in a timely manner each month for a smooth month‑end closing process.
- Ensure vendor information is accurate and submit changes to the accounting system as necessary.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
- Contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Support the Holiday Center Operation as directed.
- Support the team in other tasks as assigned; meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement of team and organizational targets/goals.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree in Business or Finance is a plus.
- 1–3 years of Accounts Payable processing experience preferred; must be detail oriented. Experience processing Accounts Payable in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment is preferred but we will train the right candidate.
Must be able to work within a multi‑disciplinary team framework; dependable and demonstrate maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity. Must handle customer information confidentially and handle job‑related matters professionally and diplomatically. Requires a heart for ministry and comfort working with poor and homeless families and individuals. Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with low socio‑economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations.
Knowledge of community resources available to homeless populations.
Hearing and speaking ability allowing for effective oral communication of information; physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job‑related issues and stress.
OtherMust demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass applicable pre‑employment background screening procedures.
