Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a service-based organization in Tampa, Florida on a long-term contract assignment. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can oversee core accounting activities, guide one direct report, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume transaction environment. The role will play a key part in monthly reporting, financial statement preparation, and audit support while ensuring day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Supervise and support a staff accountant, providing direction on daily accounting tasks and priorities.
• Manage general ledger activity, including reviewing entries and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Produce financial statements and related reports for management review with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate audit preparation activities by organizing schedules, responding to requests, and assisting with financial statement audits.
• Handle accounting operations within a high-volume transactional setting while maintaining strong internal controls and consistency.
• Use Microsoft Excel and South Ware Excellence Series to analyze data, track activity, and support accounting processes.
