AUDIT MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Audit & Assurance Manager is responsible for managing client relationships and supervising audit and assurance teams and engagements as well as being flexible to support other Firm service lines on an as needed basis.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Cultivate positive client relationships by maintaining clear communication throughout engagements, introducing innovative ideas and recommendations, and understanding industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Lead and manage team members to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Identify and develop new leads and contacts for the Firm, recognizing opportunities to offer additional services when appropriate.
  • Take ownership of engagement profitability, including efficient billing and collections.
  • Provide timely and accurate formal quotes and proposals for engagements and projects.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders, providing clear direction and resolving issues promptly.
  • Lead with integrity, trust, accountability, and transparency, inspiring the team to exceed client and Firm expectations.
  • Engage in business development activities, fostering relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities, consistently meet tight deadlines, and strategically plan workflows independently.
  • Resolve team member issues that hinder successful completion of engagements and projects.
  • Monitor deadlines and communicate scheduling needs to ensure proper resource allocation.
  • Provide team members with timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on their performance.
  • Set clear performance and goal expectations for team members.
  • Manage work in progress (WIP) efficiently to maintain project momentum.
  • Communicate changes in accounting and methodologies to the team effectively.
  • Adhere to and follow Firm policies and procedures, including time entry, billing and collections, technology use, service methodologies, and human resources.
  • Actively participate in Firm activities to attract and retain high-performing individuals.
  • Champion the Firm's reputation in the community and through involvement in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years of public accounting or equivalent industry experience
  • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Proven leadership experience managing internal team members and external client relationships
  • Strong client relationship management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate and analyze source materials
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development across diverse client engagements
  • Experience with, or interest in, leveraging automation and AI-based tools
  • Desire to contribute to a positive, collaborative, and fun company culture
