We're looking for a strategic and hands-on Controller to join our team team and drive financial excellence across a fast-growing, privately held consumer packaged goods company. As our Controller, you will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities while serving as a key business partner to the executive team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and month-end close.
  • Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Maintain or improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP system through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing.
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
  • Insure that the accounting department achieves its monthly KPIs and assist other departments with timely information (both scheduled and on-demand) to help them achieve their own department KPIs
  • Compare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis on a monthly basis. Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information as needed for decision making support.
  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and month-end close.
  • Support Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales teams by delivering critical data in an accurate, timely fashion.
  • Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Perform adhoc accounting duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), manufacturing, food & beverage, retail, or distribution environment.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Experience with inventory-intensive or manufacturing businesses preferred
  • Strong cost accounting and supply chain finance experience preferred

  • Working environment:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will generally work in an office environment. Some tasks may require working in a manufacturing environment where appropriate attire and safety equipment are required.
