Job DescriptionThe Payroll Specialist plays a key role in supporting accurate and timely payroll operations for a diverse workforce. This position assists employees with payroll-related questions, processes payroll for multiple shifts, manages budget transfer requests, and handles garnishment processing while maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.
Responsibilities- Provide clear and timely assistance to employees regarding payroll questions and concerns.
- Process payroll for multiple different shifts and shift runs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Review and process budget transfer requests in alignment with organizational guidelines.
- Handle all garnishment processing, including accurate calculations and proper documentation.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks related to payroll and employee records.
- Act as the face of the payroll department, communicating professionally and effectively with internal employees.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll calculations and reporting.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.
- Protect sensitive payroll and employee information by following confidentiality and data security standards.
- Experience or familiarity with payroll processing and related procedures.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal employees and respond to payroll inquiries.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry and payroll calculations.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to perform administrative and data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Professional demeanor and customer service orientation when representing the payroll department.

This position is fully on-site at a corporate office within a large, student-centered educational institution. The role is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, offering a stable, weekday-oriented work schedule. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and administrative teams in a professional office setting that values collaboration, learning, and service to students. Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
