The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will oversee account reconciliations, support financial statement preparation, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing variances, monitoring internal controls, supporting audits and compliance activities, and collaborating with operations and leadership to provide financial insights that support decision-making.
The role also contributes to process improvements, documentation of accounting policies, and implementation of best practices aligned with Yzer Next's growth and operational goals.
- Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support business decision-making.
- Knowledge of internal controls, compliance standards, and audit support, preferably within logistics, transportation, or related industries.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and manage multiple deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including experience in a senior or lead role.
