Tax Bookkeeping Specialist

Job Description

Baker Tilly (BT) is seeking a Tax Accounting Specialist to support small and mid‐size business clients with comprehensive bookkeeping services in the tax practice.

As part of a fast‑growing tax practice, you will work closely with clients to prepare and maintain their financial records, support tax return preparation, and contribute to continuous improvement of client service.

• Work closely with multiple small and mid‑size business clients to provide bookkeeping services, including but not limited to:
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Enter adjusting journal entries.
• Clean up client accounts for tax return preparation.
• Provide reports to clients and the tax preparation team.
• Collaborate with clients and respond to their requests and inquiries.
• Onboard and set up bookkeeping accounts in Quick Books Online.
• Assist the tax team with year‑end reporting of 1099s.
• Handle special projects as needed.
• Demonstrate a desire to grow and develop skills through internal and external training.
• Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally.
• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
• Participate in social activities and team outings that encourage work‑life balance.

• Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
• Proficiency in Quick Books Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of professional services and client service.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional demeanor.
• High attention to detail, problem solving, and intellectual curiosity.
• Adherence to the highest level of confidentiality.
• Enjoys interacting with clients and providing exceptional service.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.

• In Atlanta, GA: pay ranges from $22.50 to $33.00 per hour.
• In Tampa, FL: pay ranges from $20.44 to $30.00 per hour.
