This position is designated as an essential employee and may be required to report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather or other conditions.
Responsibilities
1. Assist students and families with accurate tuition and fees structure, audit rates and room and board rates.
2. Counsel students and families on the payment, withdraw and refund policies, as well as give detailed explanation of how our University’s payment plan is offered.
3. Interpreting a student’s financial aid package with a full understanding to articulate how financial aid affects the overall student statement.
4. Counsel students and families on third party payees’ payments, such as 529 payments, Florida Prepaid and Sponsored Payments.
5. Record and deposit all monies received on a daily basis, including Outside Scholarship Payments.
6. Verify and balance credit card transmittal daily. Maintain all cash receipts and student files.
7. Assist with the auditing of student accounts during all phases of the registration process.
8. Perform general clerical duties such as scanning documents and answering phones.
9. Coordinate with other institutional offices in the best interest of the student.
10. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
Qualifications
1. High School diploma required; some college preferred.
2. 12 months of cash handling experience.
3. Two (2) years’ experience in customer service.
4. Efficient typing and 10-key skills.
5. Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office suite
6. Excellent oral, interpersonal and organizational skills needed.
7. Ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
9. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
10. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Summer
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Occasional evenings and weekends required.
