The Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) seeks a professional, organized, and customer-focused Office Assistant to support administrative and operational activities within the Dean's Office. This position provides front-desk reception, customer service, event support, and general office assistance to the Operations, Student Support Services, and Professional Development teams.
Schedule:
Up to 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling between Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Tampa Campus.
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and four years of office or administrative support experience, preferably in higher education. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute for the required experience on an equivalent basis.
Degree Equivalency Clause:
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements - A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:

- (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
- Experience providing administrative support in a higher education environment; experience at USF is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and responsive in completing assignments and communications.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to graduate student success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Professional demeanor and attention to confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams).
