Job Description
This position supports the academic and administrative needs of the College of Public Health's newly established academic departments. The responsibilities of this position will include administrative management and/or coordination of overall department operations, business operations, human capital management, academic and student success, space utilization, search coordination and administrative and academic compliance.

Responsibilities- Provides leadership to and directly supports departmental operational needs, including being a liaison with appropriate offices & teams within COPH & USF to meet department goals. Oversees and coordinates office functions, including ensuring office supplies, equipment, and spaces are available and organized for faculty use; develops department business processes to ensure consistency and efficiency; ensures web and marketing materials are current for the department;
coordinates departmental meetings and providing administrative support as needed; and provides calendaring and administrative support for the chair as needed. - Works with the Department Chair and COPH teams to support the financial and business operations of the Department. Including but not limited to development of annual department budgets, monitoring fiscal activity and review of financial reports; ensures compliance with university travel and procurement policies, serve as a resource to guide faculty and staff through required processes; tracks research awards of departmental faculty and supports the department's research mission as requested;
coordinates departmental student support allocations and obligations. - Coordinates support of the department's academic mission with the Chair, department faculty and COPH Academic & Student Affairs, to include: supporting the student lifecycle (recruitment, admissions, retention & student success, graduation); coordination of the academic course calendar; supports academic processes for establishing new courses/curriculum; facilitates as available financial aid and other student support initiatives; supports the course evaluation process as needed;
serves as a resource for the chair and faculty as it relates to academic policies and procedures. - Working with COPH teams and assigned HR business partners, is the primary department liaison to support the recruitment, credentialing, assignment and evaluation of department faculty, staff and student employees. Coordinates any departmental onboarding activities for new team members. Ensures timely completion of state and federal effort reporting. May be responsible for management of subordinate staff or student employees.
- Serves as a resource for the Chair and faculty in terms of COPH & USF policies and procedures. Maintains departmental records and generates reports related to faculty research, accreditation, academic program metrics, financial summaries and personnel. Serves as a liasion with other departments and units, representing the department on committees and work groups.
Minimum:
This position requires a Master's degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor's degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience.

1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERREDPreferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Business or a related field. Proficency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with USF systems such as GEMS, FAST, Bulls Marketplace and Archivum.
