Overview
Senior Purchaser - Construction Procurement in Tampa, Florida
. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
Provide day-to-day oversight of procurement operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuity of supply.
Lead and coordinate the preparation of strategic quotes in support of the Estimating team, ensuring competitive, accurate, and market-aligned pricing prior to bid submission.
Execute post-award buyouts in close coordination with Operations and Project Managers to secure the most cost-effective procurement outcomes, leveraging volume purchasing and strategic sourcing where applicable.
Collaborate directly with Project Managers to phase material deliveries in alignment with project schedules, cash flow considerations, and jobsite logistics.
Manage procurement of all materials, rental equipment, and subcontracted services required to support project execution.
Partner with senior leadership to develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors, manufacturers, and distributors, maximizing project registrations, rebate programs, and long-term value.
Support company-wide procurement needs related to facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and operational supplies.
Assist in the development and execution of strategic procurement initiatives, including manufacturer partnerships and preferred vendor programs.
Maintain awareness of industry trends, market conditions, and applicable government and industry regulations to ensure compliant and forward-looking procurement practices.
Required Experience- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within construction, electrical, or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience developing, evaluating, and implementing purchasing policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency, compliance, and cost management.
- Proven ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions, and to prepare and execute purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems, inventory controls, and contract management practices is strongly preferred.
Compensation will be a base with rebates/incentives bonus potential.
Fundamental FunctionsWork Environment
- Work assignments may vary based on client requirements.
- Work may be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
- Work may be performed in the field. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, wet, icy, or windy climates.
Schedule
- Regular attendance following an established work schedule is mandatory.
- It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
- You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.
- This position may require night and weekend work and could include travel to areas with varying field conditions.
Physical Requirements
- May require climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.
- Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations. Will be required to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Sitting ne use and PC/laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

- General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs/laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
- General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts, and test equipment.
