Territory Manager

Position Summary

Local Market Territory Performance Manager responsible for developing and executing short‑ and long‑term strategies to drive sales growth, market share, and operational performance across a defined territory. Duties include overseeing daily operations, supporting and developing operators and dealers, ensuring customer service and quality standards, managing profit and loss, sales execution, fleet utilization, and operational effectiveness at assigned Avis and Budget Local Market locations.

• Manage and improve the operational and revenue performance of assigned Local Market locations.
• Grow the territory by prospecting new dealers, agent operators, and local business opportunities; coordinate onboarding and retention processes.
• Participate in sales blitzes, trade shows, chamber of commerce functions, and other local events to strengthen brand awareness.
• Motivate, coach, and support operators/dealers to increase inside and outside sales, revenue, and profitability; recruit, train, and evaluate carriers to ensure service standards.
• Liaise between dealers/operators, dealership staff, and company management regarding operational, financial, and inventory concerns; communicate performance news.
• Audit agency operators’ performance and dealer performance through standard reviews; recommend location openings or closures based on performance and market research.
• Visit all locations regularly, prioritizing visits based on revenue and overall performance.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, monthly reports, competitive information sheets, contracts, business correspondence, customer complaints, call reports, and expense reports accurately and timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, inventory management, territory management, field maintenance, or field operations—experience in transportation is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Demonstrated sales ability.
• Ability to manage a multi‑site environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to address a wide variety of audiences and communicate operational data to dealers/operators and to management.
• Ability to influence others to improve performance levels; training experience is a plus.
• Strong time‑management, organizational, analytical skills, resourcefulness, motivation, business acumen, and self‑management ability.
• Strong team‑building skills and ability to motivate a team to continuously improve performance; ability to facilitate meetings effectively.
• Proficient computer skills, strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with operations performance software is a plus.
