Part‑time Athletic Communications Assistant

• Primary athletic communications contact for men's and women's basketball; secondary contact for men's and women's soccer and softball.
• Write and publish press releases, stories, graphic designs, and new media coverage for assigned sports.
• Create social media posts that tell the story of Tampa Basketball, including its history, traditions, and showcasing of student‑athletes and coaches.
• Oversee student workers assisting with basketball, including statisticians, social media assistants, game workers, photographers, videographers, and video production.
• Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge, respect for, and development of skills to engage with individuals of other cultures and backgrounds.
• Assist with putting away items (tables, chairs, stanchions, etc.) associated with volleyball, basketball, Sword & Shield Room, and outdoor athletic events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledgeable in university sports and experience with NCAA basketball and soccer statistical software.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and be available nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient on social media platforms (Instagram, X, Tik Tok, You Tube, etc.).
• Ability to learn and use the university’s software programs such as Workday and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
• Adaptability to the department’s organization and filing system.

Pay rate: $20.00 per hour. Part‑time schedule may not exceed 29 hours per week/1,000 hours per calendar year. Availability for nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Background check may be required for finalists. Some positions may also require a motor vehicle report and/or a credit report.
