ABOUT THIS ROLESt. Michael's is hiring a Senior Contract Specialist to support a DoD client. As a Senior Contract Specialist, you will support development, implementation, and control of traditional and non-traditional financial, contractual, and technical aspects of projects/programs through designated phases of the acquisition cycle. You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your experience working with DCAA and/or DCMA as necessary, to determine fair and reasonable prices.
Our core value of teamwork will be paramount to this role as you will actively participate in IPTs and guide and assist team members, technical program personnel, sales representatives, local suppliers, and/or contractors on acquisition and business-related issues.

WHO YOU ARE- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- DAWIA Practitioner Level II Equivalency in the Contracting field
- Minimum 10 years working in federal government acquisition programs, including:
- Minimum of 8 years of acquisition/contracting experience
- Knowledge of contract data reporting tools, training, and database operations and maintenance
- Knowledge of pre- and post-award procedures sufficient to award and administer firm fixed-price, cost, indefinite delivery, or other contracts of similar complexity
- Knowledge of laws, policies, regulations, and procedures governing acquisitions as well as contracting within the Federal government, including the FAR, DFARS, and SOFARS
- Knowledge of contract strategies oriented toward rapid innovation and development, including FAR-based strategies (e.g., BAAs, Commercial Solutions Offerings) and statutory strategies (e.g., SBIR/STTR, Other Transactions) and required procedures, clauses, and special provisions
- Education:
Master’s degree in business or related discipline - Years of
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of acquisition/contracting experience with at least 1 year within USSOCOM
- Support development, implementation, and control of traditional and non-traditional financial, contractual, and technical aspects of projects/programs through designated phases of the acquisition cycle.
- Support planning of acquisition and contracting strategies for assigned projects/programs within cost, schedule, and performance baselines
- Conduct research using FAR and other regulatory guidance to provide informed guidance and courses of action to a wide range of customers.
- Prepare pre-solicitation documentation including determinations and findings and small business coordination.
- Staff pre-solicitation documentation for review and post notices in the Federal Business Opportunities as required.
- Prepare solicitations and amendments for PCO review and approvals; staff all solicitation/amendment documentation and post notices as required.
- Conduct price and cost analysis, using DCAA/DCMA as necessary to determine fair and reasonable prices.
- Review evaluation input and prepare contract negotiation positions for PCO review and approval.
- Prepare contract award documents and amendments for PCO review and approvals; staff all award/amendment documentation and post notices as required.
- Prepare post-award documentation, such as contract modifications and memoranda for the record.
- Independently conduct all contract administration functions retained by USSOCOM.
- Establish and maintain auditable, repeatable, and defendable contract files.
- Participate in IPTs and guide team members, technical program personnel, sales representatives, and contractors on acquisition and business-related issues.
