Project Manager / Sales Manager - Overhead Doors

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Sales Manager to lead commercial overhead door sales, estimating and project delivery. This hybrid role combines business development and account management with hands-on project coordination and service oversight. The ideal candidate will understand overhead door systems, manage commercial projects from estimating through handover, coordinate service technicians and installations, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and pursue new commercial sales opportunities for overhead doors and related services; prepare and present competitive proposals and quotes.
• Manage the full project lifecycle for commercial installations: scope definition, estimating, scheduling, procurement, installation oversight and final commissioning.
• Coordinate and dispatch service technicians for repairs, maintenance and warranty work; prioritize calls and ensure timely response to customer needs.
• Work closely with customers, general contractors and facility managers to maintain clear communication, manage expectations and resolve issues promptly.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project budgets, change orders and progress reports; monitor profitability and take corrective action when required.
• Conduct site visits and technical assessments to develop accurate scopes of work and specifications.
• Ensure all projects comply with applicable codes, manufacturer guidelines and company safety standards; lead jobsite safety briefings as needed.
• Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing to manage material availability, inventory levels and vendor relationships.
• Provide regular sales and project status reporting to leadership, and assist in forecasting and pipeline management.
• Train, mentor and lead technicians and junior staff on technical best practices, customer service and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined commercial sales and project management experience, preferably in overhead doors, commercial doors or related building products.
• Hands-on knowledge of overhead door systems, operators, sensors and access control integrations; prior experience as a service technician is a plus.
• Proven success estimating, quoting and closing commercial contracts; experience with change orders and contract administration.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and service requests simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills; able to build and maintain customer relationships at the owner and GC levels.
• Familiarity with codes, safety regulations and manufacturer installation requirements for commercial doors.
• Proficient with MS Office, estimating software and CRM systems; experience with project management tools is desirable.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record; willingness to travel to job sites and perform occasional site inspections outside normal hours.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical drawings, shop drawings and installation details.
• Leadership experience with the ability to supervise technicians and subcontractors, and to drive accountability for schedules, quality and safety.
