Overview

Commercial Construction Safety & Quality Assurance Coordinator. Become part of a growing business in the exciting construction industry. R.E. Floyd Construction is a growing General Contractor and Construction Management Firm specializing in high end custom residential, multi-family, and commercial construction throughout the greater Tampa Bay, Ocala, Orlando, and Sarasota/Bradenton areas since 1984. We are currently looking to fill the position of Safety & Quality Assurance Coordinator for the greater Tampa Bay and Orlando Area.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to grow with us and become a leader in their field. This position plays a critical role in protecting our workforce, maintaining strong relationships with clients and trade partners, and delivering projects that reflect our commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working both in the field and in an administrative support capacity.

Responsibilities
  • Safety Coordination:
    Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits; assist in enforcing company safety policies and OSHA compliance; support project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and site-specific safety plans; track and document safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training records; investigate incidents and near-misses; assist with corrective action implementation; ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices on all project sites;

    maintain safety documentation for clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control:
    Perform routine quality inspections to ensure work meets plans, specs, and company standards; photo/video document job progress and final completion; assist project teams in developing and managing QA/QC checklists; track deficiencies and coordinate follow-up with field teams and subcontractors; support punch list development and closeout processes; maintain documentation of inspections, testing reports, and compliance records; help ensure materials and installations meet contract requirements.
  • Administrative & Coordination Support:
    Maintain safety and QA logs, reports, and documentation systems; coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors on corrective actions; assist in preconstruction planning related to safety and quality requirements; support regulatory inspections and client audits; monitor subcontractor compliance with safety and quality standards; prepare Closeout Documents and Logs.

Position Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction (field or safety/QA role preferred)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices
  • Understanding of construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with QA/QC processes in commercial construction a plus
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Clean Driving Record and ability to travel to multiple job sites daily
Position Details

Job Type:
Full-time

Hours: 7:00AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday.

Please Note:
This is a working project management role and traveling within our coverage area is required. The current Coverage Area includes Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Polk, Hernando, Marion, Lee, Orange, Osceola. (Coverage area subject to change at any time)
