CEI Inspector

What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a CEI Inspector to join our Construction Services Team in Tampa, Florida! At GFT, we’re not just engineering the future; we’re meticulously building it. We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Independently performs the most difficult and complex inspection tasks, including assessing adherence to quality control procedures for steel. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, steel, mechanical or electrical. Frequently serves in the capacity of Lead Inspector.

• Inspects various facets of work on FDOT construction sites to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Documents nonconformance and participates in determining appropriate resolution.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and construction specifications.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in construction inspection
• 1 year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection

• IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sediment Control Training Certification
• FDOT Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course

• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• CTQP Grouting Technician Level I
• CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I

The salary range for this role is $27 - $30 / hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
