Overview
GFT is seeking a CEI Sr. Inspector in Tampa, FL to join our Construction Services Team.
ResponsibilitiesThis role inspects and oversees construction work to ensure that results, procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. It also serves as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors, managing all aspects of a project including construction observations, material testing, and documentation.
- Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
- Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
- Examine workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approve installation.
- Interpret plans and specifications for Contractor and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
- Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, develop pay estimates and change orders.
- Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
- Monitor several types of work activity.
- Maintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance.
- Manage documents using electronic platforms such as MAC, PrC and Procore.
- High school diploma.
- 4+ years progressive experience in construction of roadways and transportation facilities, and/or infrastructure.
- A safety‑first mindset.
- Strong writing, listening and communication skills.
- ACI Field Inspector and Troxler Nuclear Density Guage Certifications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers, clients and contractors to solve problems and conflicts.
- Ability and desire to lead.
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician 1.
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection 1 and 2.
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway 1 and 2.
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection.
- FDOT Intermediate MOT.
- CTQP Final Estimates 1.
- ISMA Traffic Signal Technician 1.
- FDOT Critical Structures.
- Nuclear Radiation Safety.
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sediment Control.
$37.00 - $42.00 per hour, salary dependent on experience and geographic location.
