The Estimator 2 has a focus on company‑wide success in adherence to MCC Standards and all preconstruction activities directed for the support of preparation and undertaking for all of Manhattan’s preconstruction services. The position is responsible for compiling takeoffs, subcontractor deliverables, assisting in estimating and tab sheet creation. The Estimator 2 must be a flexible and adaptable team‑player, as well as has strong communication and client service skills.
In addition, the skill set of owning one’s work is crucial to this role.
- Responsible for creating estimates for scopes of work assigned
- Basic knowledge of unit pricing
- Provides leadership over smaller projects
- Owns Vendor Solicitation of scope of works assigned
- Negotiates pricing for scopes of works assigned
- Owns contracts for scopes of work assigned
- Makes recommendations for software updates
- Responsible for bid package scopes of work for work assigned
- Assists w/ Creation of Bid Manual
- Assists in managing historical costs / estimating software database
- Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.

- Knowledge of Estimating & Takeoff Software
- Bachelor’s Degree — Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis
- 3 years of industry experience
- Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
- Ability to repeat the same movements.
- Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
- Use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control.
- Occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
