Construction Inspector; Water​/Wastewater - Part-time

Role Description

Arcadis is seeking a Part‑time, as‑needed Construction Inspector for our Construction Management Team in Tampa, Florida.

• Observe and inspect construction work performed by contractors.
• Perform punch‑list inspections, review drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
• Prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports/photos.
• Participate in project schedule and contractor invoice reviews.
• Maintain quality assurance requirements and monitor compliance with codes and contract documents.
• Inspect and determine deviations from contract documents; inform contractors of required corrections.
• Review submittals and recommend technical solutions.
• Attend construction meetings, safety meetings/updates, and project site coordination meetings.
• Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, equipment) and assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes.
• Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes and maintain payment quantity documentation.
• Perform necessary mathematical calculations during inspection activities.
• Ensure Arcadis project safety guidelines are being followed during daily inspections.
• Travel locally to project sites, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight as needed.

• Required: 10 years of mechanical/civil/utility construction inspection experience.
• High level of mathematical aptitude; ability to multi‑task and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook).
• Must be able to work year‑round in various weather conditions.

• Preferred: 15+ years of civil/utility construction inspection experience.
• Experience with civil/mechanical construction inspection on small to large infrastructure projects.
• Certifications such as NASSCO ITCP / PACP, ACI, NICET, OSHA 10 Safety and Confined Space Entry Training.
• Active participation in a regional or national professional association.
