Lennar is one of the nation’s leading homebuilders dedicated to building quality homes and providing exceptional customer service. We are seeking a Purchasing Estimator to support all aspects of take‑offs, cost analysis, and material request review for our residential construction projects.
Responsibilities- Create material take‑offs for all existing, new, and revised plans (initial focus on framing).
- Maintain take‑offs for all active plans and coordinate changes with Purchasing and Operations.
- Review and verify take‑off change requests and eliminate unnecessary material EPO requests.
- Analyze plans for cost‑analysis recommendations and research costs for proposed design ideas.
- Assist with material EPO review to ensure compliance with take‑offs and scopes of work.
- Complete take‑offs for special projects and specification changes.
- Field verify actual quantities versus quantity take‑offs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years residential construction/architecture experience; high school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
- Full understanding of residential construction, architectural, structural, and MEP design.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial modeling.
- Experience with JD Edwards, Build Pro, and other proprietary software.
- Strong writing, organization, and communication skills.
- Detail oriented, problem‑solving ability, and the capacity to handle complex situations.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, loyalty, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Initiative and ability to achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate a motor vehicle and construction equipment.
- Excellent teamwork and cooperation with co‑workers; acceptance of constructive feedback.
Regular in‑person attendance at company communities, job sites, and offices during regular work hours is essential. The role requires working more than eight hours per day in confined construction trailer spaces, operating a motor vehicle, reading plans, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, moving or carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, and occasional operation of construction equipment.
