Field Verification Manager

Responsible for verification and correction of take‑offs for all active plans, including prototype homes, and for submitting take‑off changes as needed. Works with Area Construction Managers and Construction Managers to resolve take‑off plan issues.

• Interact with the Purchasing Manager, Area Managers, and Construction Managers to resolve take‑off problems.
• Create material take‑offs for new and revised plans, special projects, and specification changes.
• Verify and approve take‑off changes sent from the field.
• Perform field inspections and verifications of architecture, engineering, and materials on all new prototype homes.
• Conduct field inspections to identify unnecessary overhead expenses such as generators, portable toilets, and material waste.
• Evaluate take‑off issues in the field and review with the Estimator to make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform random audits during the construction process to ensure scopes of work are enforced, followed, and quality control of materials from suppliers.
• Measure available slab and flatwork prior to concrete pour on regular field visit days.
• Review plans, take‑offs, and budgets for new communities and plans to resolve possible issues before construction begins and manage all plan sets.
• Analyze plans for cost analysis and value‑engineering recommendations.
• Prepare contracting packages (e.g., subcontractor base agreements, scopes of work, insurance requirements, specifications).
• Negotiate and question pricing and legitimacy of EPOs; review all extra EPOs to verify alignment with approved take‑offs and scopes of work.
• Generate and analyze variance reports; identify trends to prevent and reduce costs.
• Participate in division variance meetings and communicate results to the purchasing and construction team.
• Review site‑condition reports prior to budget creation.
• Randomly audit Build Pro tasks for accuracy and Net Plus item installations in the field.
• Identify potential new trade partners by visiting surrounding communities.

• Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Valid auto insurance coverage.
• At least 2 years of residential construction experience.
• Computer literate with JD Edwards, AutoCAD, Buzzsaw, Build Pro/Supply Pro, and Excel.
• Full understanding of residential construction and architectural design.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Professionally perform multiple, detail‑oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
• Good writing, verbal, and organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and loyalty.
• Team player able to work well under pressure.

Regular, in‑person attendance at company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is essential. Requires the ability to work >8 hours/day in confined quarters of a construction trailer, operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move or carry equipment which may exceed 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.

Daily interaction with division personnel, outside agencies, business partners, consultants, and homeowners.
