Role DescriptionThe Water and Waste Water Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Tampa, FL. This role oversees daily construction activities on water and wastewater projects, including coordination of crews, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Superintendent monitors site progress, resolves field issues, reviews plans and specifications, and ensures compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting safety meetings and inspections, managing material deliveries, maintaining detailed project documentation, and communicating regularly with project managers, clients, and inspectors. The role also involves proactively identifying risks, implementing corrective actions, and supporting a culture of safety and collaboration on the job site.
- Ability to oversee Construction Site Management activities, including crew coordination, subcontractor oversight, and daily field operations.
- Strong focus on Construction Safety, with experience implementing safety plans, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Demonstrated Organization Skills for scheduling, documentation, and efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
- Experience with Budgeting and cost control to manage project expenses and support financial performance.
- Proven Project Management skills, including planning, sequencing work, and meeting milestones and deadlines.
- Prior experience in water and wastewater or heavy civil construction is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Willingness to work in varying outdoor conditions and comply with all company and regulatory safety requirements.
