Athletics Motion Graphic Designer (Finance)
The University of South Florida (USF), a member of the American Athletic Conference, is currently accepting applications for the position of Motion Graphic Designer. The position will be housed in the athletics external services department and will report to the Senior Graphic Designer. The selected candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment to deliver creative motion graphic assets for in‑game production, digital and social media applications, and other brand‑enhancing projects across the athletics organization.
Responsibilities- Develop motion graphics from concept to final delivery, including LED animations, video content, scoreboard elements, and other graphical assets.
- Create original motion designs by determining information flow, content layout, and visual style based on available space and design principles.
- Collaborate with design and video teams to maintain a consistent brand identity and to explore innovative motion‑graphics solutions.
- Assist with production shoots, including shot list creation and ensuring correct collateral is captured for in‑venue, social, and digital content.
- Present concepts with storyboards, references, sample animations, and other design work to stakeholders.
- Fact‑check and research to ensure art/video consistency across projects.
- Plan work schedules, recommend timelines, and help train new staff and interns.
- Assist with additional static design needs and perform other duties as assigned, such as file management and content organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, animation, or a related field with two years of experience, or a Master’s degree with equivalent experience.
- Solid record of motion‑graphics design work with a strong understanding of sports and entertainment best practices.
- Awareness of motion‑graphics design trends in live events and digital media.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic sports/entertainment environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender, Illustrator, Photoshop, and associated plug‑ins.
- Intermediate editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro and the Creative Suite.
- Ability to multi‑task effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must provide web links to completed work, demo reels, or other content that validate experience.
- Must submit a strong portfolio showcasing current work.
- Ready to work non‑traditional hours in evenings and/or weekends as required.
- Adherence to NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.
This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
