Salary:
$600/week + uncapped commission + full comprehensive benefits
Full-time position with occasional Saturdays required.
Job Summary:
The Service Writer acts as the liaison between customers and the dealership's service department. You will be responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle service needs, coordinating service schedules, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the customer's satisfaction.
Your role requires excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills to ensure a seamless experience from start to finish.
Job Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction:
Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner, assess their vehicle service needs, and document all issues. - Service Coordination:
Create detailed work orders for the service team based on customer requests and vehicle diagnostics, ensuring clarity and accuracy. - Scheduling:
Organize and manage service appointments, ensuring an efficient flow of work in the service department. - Customer Communication:
Keep customers updated on the status of their vehicle, including time frames, costs, and any additional repairs needed. - Cost Estimates:
Provide accurate service cost estimates to customers, explain repair options, and handle any follow-up questions. - Parts Coordination:
Work with the parts department to ensure the necessary parts are available for service jobs and coordinate the timely delivery of these parts. - Service Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of service history, warranties, and completed work orders. - Upselling Services:
Identify opportunities to offer additional services or products that benefit the customer's vehicle performance or longevity. - Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve customer complaints or issues related to service in a timely and professional manner. - Payment Processing:
Ensure proper handling of invoices, payments, and any related financial transactions at the conclusion of service.
- Proven experience in a customer service or automotive service environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and service processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with dealership management systems and software is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
