Overview

HDR is seeking a Senior Health Planner to support our growing Health practice and deliver creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those served. HDR has delivered award-winning integrated healthcare planning and design for medical centers and health systems for over 50 years. Our global healthcare practice uses evidence-based design methodologies to integrate clinical, operational and facility planning with organizational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuits
  • Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
  • Prepare drawings and specification documents
  • Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
  • Understand healthcare trends
  • Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
  • Assist the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning
  • Mentor junior staff or other interested colleagues in health planning practices
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 10 years  experience in Health Architecture
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Health Planning
  • Architectural registration
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam)
  • Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP etc.)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Knowledge and experience of healthcare architecture planning and design
  • Ability to make client presentations
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 12 years related experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction of buildings
  • Understanding of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and models
  • Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must
