Senior Architectural Drafter – Residential Construction Documents
We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Drafter to produce high-quality, buildable construction documents for residential builder clients. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a production-focused environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, permit-ready drawings. You'll play a key role in developing complete construction document sets, coordinating with architects and consultants, and ensuring projects are thoroughly reviewed for constructability and code compliance.
This is a hands-on, in-office role best suited for someone who excels in technical drafting, problem-solving, and fast-paced project delivery.
Compensation & Location
- Pay Rate: $24.00 – $38.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
Construction Document Production
- Develop complete, code-compliant construction document sets for single-family and multi-family residential projects.
- Prepare architectural layouts and coordinate basic structural plan elements.
- Produce permit-ready drawing packages with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
Coordination & Redline Integration
- Interpret and implement redlines from architects, engineers, and clients.
- Coordinate with consultants including structural engineers, truss designers, and MEP teams.
- Resolve coordination issues and ensure alignment across all design disciplines.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Review drawings for constructability, quality, and consistency across plan sets.
- Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and related standards.
- Respond to building department comments with clear and coordinated revisions.
Field Support & Problem Solving
- Provide drafting support during construction for field changes, repairs, and updates.
- Identify and resolve plan conflicts or real-world build issues.
Documentation & Workflow
- Maintain organized drawing files, templates, and production standards.
- Work within project timelines and communicate status updates to project leadership.
- Support efficient turnaround of plan sets in a high-volume production environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5–8 years of architectural drafting experience, preferably in an architectural firm.
- Strong experience producing construction documents for residential projects (production home environment preferred).
- Proficiency in all phases of construction document development, from schematic design through permit sets.
- Working knowledge of Florida Building Code and related regulations (NEC, accessibility, etc.).
- Proficiency with CAD software used in architectural drafting environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
Preferred Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Drafting, Construction, or related field.
- Experience with light commercial drafting.
- Strong familiarity with production-style residential plan development.
- Experience coordinating across multiple consultants and disciplines.
- Ability to identify constructability challenges and proactively solve design issues.
