Interior Design Assistant job at Hanover Floors Carpet One. Tampa, FL.

Summary

The Interior Design Assistant role is dynamic and hands‑on, supporting the design team with communications, project coordination, research, documentation, and client service. This position works closely with both clients and designers to understand functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and budgets—helping produce plans that meet all requirements while keeping projects running smoothly.

Duties
  • Organize and maintain the product library and showroom samples, coordinating with vendor reps for deliveries and returns.
  • Support design meetings and client presentations by preparing materials and taking detailed notes.
  • Conduct stock checks on materials and provide pricing updates to the design team.
  • Manage client inquiries, calls, and scheduling on behalf of designers when they are out of office.
  • Assist designers with field measurements and preliminary plan layouts (training provided in 2020 Design).
  • Prepare construction documents including plans, elevations, selection packets, and invoices.
  • Process and collect client payments, ensuring accurate records.
  • Support the warehouse team with cabinet order check‑ins and quality control.
  • Assist with project selections such as hardware, paint colors, and trim details during project continuation.
  • Support designers and project managers with add‑on requests, including site measurements, preparing quotes, and processing payments.
  • Conduct project site check‑ins and assist with quality inspections.
  • Coordinate professional project photography and assist with staging.
Requirements
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PDF).
  • Background in customer service, administrative support, or Interior Design.
  • Creative and resourceful.
  • Professional and adaptable under pressure.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Passionate about design and eager to learn.
