Hematopathologist

The Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking a successful candidate, M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree, for its Academic Hematopathologist position with a primary focus on bone marrows. The appointment is commensurate with qualifications and will be in the Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine section of the Department of Pathology.

• We are closely affiliated with large and expanding programs in Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplant, with strong emphasis on myelodysplasia, acute leukemia and lymphoma.
• Our growing CAR‑T cell program offers excellent opportunities to combine interests in diagnostic pathology and immunotherapy.
• The candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists, with opportunities to join established basic research programs, as well as excellent opportunities for translational research in areas of related interest.
• We train both Pathology residents and Hematopathology fellows.

• Board certification in Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology or eligibility.
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is also preferred.
• Clinical duties include evaluation of peripheral blood, bone marrow and lymph node specimens.
• Opportunities for molecular diagnostic and NGS testing are available for candidates with molecular pathology training.
• Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.
