Part‑time Private Lesson Instructor (Piano) Berkeley Preparatory School’s Conservatory of Music seeks qualified part‑time instructors to teach private, on‑campus piano lessons. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide our young musicians and meet the responsibilities and requirements listed below.

• Provide weekly individual instruction to students ranging from beginning through advanced levels, including all‑state caliber musicians.
• Tailor lessons to meet the needs of each student, fostering technical growth, musicality, and independent musicianship.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and the Conservatory Director to support overall development.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that inspires students to achieve their full potential.

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in piano pedagogy and diverse musical styles, including popular music.
• Prior experience teaching private lessons to students of varied ability levels and musical interests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience preparing students for auditions (e.g., All‑State, adjudications/competitions, college entrance).
• A collaborative spirit and interest in contributing to a thriving music community.
