Assistant and Associate Professors of Instruction

Overview

The School of Information Systems in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF) is searching for outstanding candidates to fill faculty positions for Assistant/Associate Professor of Instruction. The candidates will fulfill our teaching needs and may also teach courses in related fields. Preferred candidates will have a doctoral degree from an AACSB accredited or AAU institution or equivalent and must provide evidence of meeting and sustaining the college’s faculty qualification requirements for scholarly academics.

While a completed doctoral degree is strongly preferred, candidates who will successfully complete all requirements for the doctorate degree, including final dissertation defense, before August 1, 2026 may also apply.

Tenure-track faculty positions are responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsibilities also include academic advising and representing the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or statewide committees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A PhD degree in information systems, or a related field of study from an AACSB accredited or AAU institution or equivalent
• A track record of teaching and curriculum development in undergraduate and graduate information systems programs.
• Industry experience (e.g., industry roles, consulting, substantive engagement with industry).
• Evidence that the candidate can meet and sustain the college’s faculty qualification requirements for scholarly academics.
• A track record and interest in research in information systems.
• A track record or a willingness to undertake activities in support of student success initiatives.
• Documented ability to successfully teach online and face-to-face in large sections.
