Assistant Professor of Instruction, Architecture (Finance)
The Assistant Professor of Instruction at the School of Architecture and Community Design (SACD) within USF’s College of Design, Art & Performance provides an exceptional opportunity for candidates with a primary interest in teaching within our undergraduate and graduate architecture and community/urban design programs. This is a full‑time, non‑tenure track, nine‑month position with a structured promotion path and an August 2026 start date.
The successful candidate will teach architectural design studios and lecture courses, contribute to curriculum and course development and assessment, and provide service within the school, college, and university.
Impart knowledge and skills and stimulate students’ critical thinking and creative abilities through highly effective graduate and undergraduate teaching in studios, lectures, seminars, and directed studies (e.g., thesis). Teaching load is expected to be 12 credit hours per semester. Prioritizing excellent studio teaching, the candidate may also develop courses in architectural history, computational technologies, environmental resilience, and building technologies.
Minimum Qualifications- Terminal or doctoral degree in architecture or related field
- Teaching experience in architecture
- At least three years of professional architectural experience
- Demonstrated commitment to curriculum and/or course development
