The Department of Molecular Biosciences (MBS) at the University of South Florida (USF) is seeking applications for a 9-month, full-time and tenure-earning faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of bacterial pathogenesis. The expected start date is August 7, 2026. Appropriate disciplinary specialties may include but are not limited to the molecular study of bacterial pathogens, antibiotic resistance, drug development, host-microbe interaction, and omics approaches.

MBS is part of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution in Microbiology or a related discipline, postdoctoral experience, and a proven track record as evidenced by a robust publication record. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong, externally funded research program, as well as to contribute to the education of undergraduate and graduate students.
