Overview
The School of Information Systems in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF) is searching for outstanding candidates to fill faculty positions for Assistant/Associate Professor of Instruction. The candidates will fulfill teaching needs and may also teach courses in related fields. Preferred candidates will have a doctoral degree from an AACSB accredited or AAU institution or equivalent and must provide evidence of meeting and sustaining the college’s faculty qualification requirements for scholarly academics.
While a completed doctoral degree is strongly preferred, candidates who will successfully complete all requirements for the doctorate degree, including final dissertation defense, before August 1, 2026 may also apply.
Responsibilities (illustrative):
- Teach courses in Information Systems and related fields as part of undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Contribute to the academic mission through scholarship, teaching excellence, and service according to college expectations for faculty qualifications.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in program development and departmental initiatives.
- Doctoral degree from an AACSB accredited or AAU institution or equivalent preferred; evidence of meeting and sustaining the college’s faculty qualification requirements for scholarly academics.
- Strong candidates who will complete all requirements for the doctorate, including final dissertation defense, before August 1, 2026 may apply.
- Evidence of potential for effective teaching and contribution to the field.
Founded in 1984, the School of Information Systems (SIS) at the Muma College of Business has 39 faculty and focuses on AI, analytics, digital transformation, design science, cybersecurity, machine learning, and enterprise systems. SIS faculty hold editorial positions at top journals, lead international conferences, publish books, secure major federal grants, have patents, and support startups with NSF programs.
SIS engages with businesses and the local community through its Institute for Digital Business, advisory board, Practice Center, high school outreach, and economic development activities including a state of the region report and seed fund programs. The school offers industry-relevant undergraduate and graduate programs in AI, Analytics, and Cybersecurity, and a Ph.D. concentration in Information Systems.
