Description
IDEA College Prep Teachers are responsible for ensuring every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college, while also embodying IDEA’s values daily.
The role includes setting ambitious goals, tracking student data, developing lesson plans, seeking feedback, and providing rigorous material and college‑credit opportunities.
What We Offer Compensation- Starting salary $52,000 for 0 years of experience.
- Stipends for certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500 to $4,000.
- Additional hourly compensation for after‑school tutoring or Saturday school.
- Performance‑based compensation options available.
- Paid Family Leave: up to 8 weeks for birth or adoption based on tenure.
- Tuition Reimbursement: up to 50% of tuition, max $5,250 per year.
- Employer‑Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 counseling sessions, unlimited telephonic counseling.

- High level of content‑area proficiency (teaching certification, field of study, or work experience).
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year institution (required).
- Experience in a K‑12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
- Florida educator certification required or willingness to pursue.
- IDEA certification program available for non‑certified teachers.
- Relevant coursework indicating subject‑matter exposure.
- Knowledge of core academic subject and ability to pass grade‑level aligned assessment.
- Basic knowledge of curricula and instructional practices.
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability to varied situations.
- Implement state learning standards, IDEA curricula, and assessments.
- Learn and deliver content and grade‑level curriculum.
- Submit weekly lesson plans in advance for feedback.
- Implement assessments, track progress, adjust lesson plans, update gradebook weekly.
- Communicate student progress weekly with students and families.
- Use technology as a communication and educational tool.
- Implement consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
- Shape and develop a school‑wide culture fostering productivity and enthusiasm.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with students and families.
- Host tutoring sessions.
- Participate in manager check‑ins, grade‑level meetings, after‑school duties, and school functions.
- Engage in summer and year‑long professional development.
- Work 40+ hours per week at school.
- Additional duties may include after‑school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
