Position: Human Performance & Fitness Part-Time Instructor Pool 2026-2027
Position Details
The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for part‑time instructors in human performance, coaching, fitness & wellness.
Responsibilities
Teach one or more course sections meeting 2‑4 hours per week for a semester. The course textbook is selected in consultation with the full‑time health sciences and human performance faculty.Assist students both in and out of the classroom.Create syllabi for students each semester using learning outcome guidelines provided by the department.Provide meeting time for students as needed.Administer and grade examinations and assignments.Manage online or paper grading system as needed.Adhere to all applicable department, college, and university policies and procedures.Qualifications
A minimum of a Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field is required; a Doctorate is preferred.Previous experience in coaching, exercise testing and prescription, or wellness program prescription is preferred.Previous teaching experience in coaching, exercise testing and prescription or wellness program prescription is preferred.Future teaching assignments are on a term‑by‑term basis which may include fall, spring and summer.
