POSITION TITLE: Educational Support Coach

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Educational Programs

SALARY/FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part Time

ORGANIZATION MISSION

We prepare youth and young adults to be ready for college, career, and life.

Through high-quality out-of-school experiences, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay equip young people with the academic support, workforce skills, and healthy habits they need to succeed.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a high-impact Educational Support Coach for a part-time, multi-site role. This position is designed for a mobile and adaptive expert who can move between various campuses to provide targeted pedagogical support. You will serve as the bridge between organizational standards and classroom reality, ensuring that explicit instruction and Project-Based Learning (PBL) are implemented with fidelity across the entire organization.

The successful candidate will be a "boots-on-the-ground" leader, utilizing adult learning principles to build teacher capacity and applying a deep understanding of child development to ensure student success.

As this is a multi-site role, the Educational Support Coach must be highly autonomous and comfortable working in various environments. You are the "connective tissue" that helps our organization maintain instructional excellence across all locations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Multi-Site Coaching Cycles: Rotate between assigned sites to conduct program visits, model lessons, and facilitate 1-on-1 coaching cycles with teaching staff.
  • Instructional Quality Control: Ensure a consistent standard of explicit instruction across different locations while allowing for the unique cultural needs of each site.
  • PBL Project Management: Support site-specific teams in launching and assessing Project-Based Learning initiatives, ensuring rigor and alignment with program standards.
  • Localized Professional Development: Facilitate small-group "lunch and learns" or site-based workshops grounded in adult learning theory to address specific campus trends.
  • Developmental Monitoring: Consult with teachers on student behaviors and learning gaps, providing interventions based on established child development milestones. Using knowledge of Executive Function and Brain Based Research.
