Position Details

The Office of Student Accessibility and Academic Support (OSAAS) at The University of Tampa seeks a Testing Center Program Specialist within the Academic Success Center (ASC). Reporting to the Testing Center Coordinator, the specialist will oversee daily operations of the Testing Center, which proctors approximately 5,000 assessments per academic year.

Responsibilities

Collaborate to manage all daily operations of the Testing Center.

Manage assessment scheduling systems for students with disabilities, make‑up assessments, CLEP, and distance‑learning exams.

Ensure secure and effective administration of institutional testing programs per program guidelines.

Coordinate staffing for testing in separate environments, extended time, audio exams, scribes, and other accommodations.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with OSAAS, ASC staff, and university faculty.

Deliver completed assessments to professors in a timely manner.

Provide accurate information on disability accommodation requests and assessment services.

Oversee note taking accommodations, primarily via a digital note taking system.

Enforce Student Accessibility Services policies and procedures to ensure equal access.

Observe, enhance, and implement Testing Center policies in collaboration with the Coordinator.

Maintain continuity and operation of the Testing Center by performing tasks assigned by the Director of SAAS.

Participate in strategic planning initiatives for SAAS related to Testing Center services.

Attend trainings and use university technology platforms (Accommodate, Navigate, Workday, etc.).

Cross‑train and provide coverage for other SAAS areas as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with students, staff, and faculty.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills for diverse audiences.

Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively.

Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, FERPA, and related ethical guidelines preferred.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Higher‑education experience preferred.

Database management experience.

Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative practices.

Ability to learn UTampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.

Physical ability to walk moderate distances for exam delivery.

Work Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 9:30am–6pm
Friday: 8:30am–5pm
Summer:
Monday–Thursday, 8am–5:30pm
Occasional nights and weekends may be required.
