Junior Faculty Member
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a junior faculty member to join its research mission. This position will perform basic science and/or translational research in specialized areas such as keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye). This position will also be responsible for teaching to include didactic and bench-side teaching of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows;
presenting at departmental grand rounds and college seminars.
Maintain a nationally competitive research program with continued extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, and collaboration with other faculty. Participate in didactic teaching and mentoring medical and graduate students. Participate in service functions of the department and university, as well as at the national levels, including committees, editorial boards, and study sections.
Minimum:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor. Preferred:
Optic nerve research experience.
