Adjunct Faculty Position

The College of Nursing is one of 14 colleges that comprise the University of South Florida (USF) and one of four colleges within USF Health. This position reports to the program lead of the pathway, concentration, or major to which the adjunct faculty member is primarily assigned and may also report to the program's dean. Adjunct faculty may teach in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs pending verification of appropriate licensure, approval to practice, and/or certification. Additionally, adjunct faculty are required to mentor students and are encouraged to engage in college, university, community, and professional service activities.

Faculty can expect to teach at any of the college's three campuses (Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota/Manatee).

The adjunct faculty are assigned to teach didactic or clinical courses to graduate and/or undergraduate nursing students. Clinical courses may require assigned clinical site orientation, clinical site visits, providing weekly instruction in healthcare facilities, laboratory, and/or simulation settings.

The adjunct faculty may have the opportunity to serve on college committees and perform community and professional service activities where appropriate.

Teaching assignments will be made according to the College of Nursing, and programs' curricular needs and/or priorities. Teaching assignments may be included but are not limited to:

  • Undergraduate and/or Graduate
  • Didactic/ Clinical/ Laboratory/ Simulation

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization.

Degree Equivalency Clause:
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
