Job DescriptionThe resource teacher, site, community schools, will work with the school’s leadership team (including community and family members, students, staff, administrators, and educators) to develop a Community School Plan based on a needs and assets assessment. They will also facilitate and coordinate programs and strategies that align with the plan, develop, promote, and expand the use of community resources to enhance assets, meet critical human service needs, and promote long‑term solutions.

- Participate as a key leader in assessing the school’s needs and assets, identify gaps, and existing resources.
- Work with the leadership team to analyze assessment information.
- Establish a problem‑solving team to address identified needs.
- Write and implement the Community School Plan.
- Engage the community in partnerships that support student achievement and align with site goals.
- Maintain and update agreements for all community partners and programs; monitor partnership effectiveness.
- Coordinate all community resources serving schools, including tutoring, primary health, mental health, arts, recreation, after‑school, and others identified through the assessment and district initiatives.
- Facilitate communication and relationship‑building with partners, stakeholders, and volunteers, including participation in community groups and/or committees.
- Prepare reports for stakeholders and district leadership.
- Coordinate programming during and beyond the school day for families and the community.
- Provide professional development for Community Schools.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible classroom teaching experience; three (3) years of related management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate.
- Proficient reading, writing, and presentation skills for general business and professional communications.
- Working knowledge of mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
- Strong reasoning ability: defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office. - Physical demands: standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, hearing, lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Travel to various school sites, work locations, and community organizations; may require evening work hours.
