Preschool Teacher

Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This position supports children’s social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through intentional planning, positive interactions, and hands‑on learning experiences.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and child‑friendly classroom at all times.
• Ensure constant, active supervision of children; follow all health and safety regulations.
• Implement daily routines that support predictability, independence, and positive behavior.

• Plan and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones and program goals.
• Use a variety of learning strategies including play‑based learning, small‑group instruction, and hands‑on activities.
• Support language, literacy, math, science, and social‑emotional skills through intentional teaching.

• Promote positive behavior using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques.
• Support inclusion by adapting activities and instruction to meet individual needs.
• Observe and assess children’s development; document progress through notes, portfolios, or assessments.

• Build positive relationships with families through daily communication and ongoing updates.
• Maintain confidentiality of all child and family information.

• Work collaboratively with co‑teachers and staff to maintain a positive classroom climate.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training as required.
• Follow all center policies, licensing guidelines, and reporting procedures.

• Prepare materials, set up learning centers, and assist with transitions.
• Assist with meals, toileting, diapering, handwashing, and other care routines as needed.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized classroom at all times by following Treasure Kids Academy Mandatory Cleaning Checklist.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform classroom cleaning.
• This position is Monday‑Friday 8:45 am–5:45 pm (required) – no weekends.
• Must complete a Background Screening (Clearinghouse).
• Must have experience in child care for a teaching position.
• 45 hours state‑mandated child care training courses and completed exams – required (must be on training transcript).
• (Not required but a plus) CDA, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education.
• (Not required) CPR/First Aid certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
