Music Teacher
Summary:
The Music Teacher is responsible for the instruction of music content in a classroom setting within grade levels K-12.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include designing and implementing appropriate music instruction assigned in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and students' needs. Creating a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport. Creating and delivering relevant and rigorous music lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement. Utilizing a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural and linguistic backgrounds in order to meet the individual needs of students.
Observing and evaluating student performance and mastery of standards, monitoring student assessment data, and maintaining student grades and attendance. Managing student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies and invoking appropriate disciplinary procedures. Communicating with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encouraging parental involvement. Taking all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
Appropriately maintaining and securing confidential records, inquiries, and data. Maintaining appropriate certifications and professional development hours as required. Qualifications:

Education:
A bachelor's degree. Degree or formal training in music preferred. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Music or eligibility for Florida Temporary Music Certificate is required. Language
