Position: Substitute Teacher, CHS | Part-Time - Northwest Florida State College

Job Description:

The Substitute Teacher at the NWFSC Collegiate High School (CHS) is directly accountable to the Collegiate High School Assistant Principal for the following duties:

  • Adheres to the lesson plans assigned by the classroom teacher
  • Applies various teaching techniques to encourage participation and facilitate learning
  • Assigns classwork and homework
  • Complies with and enforces CHS policies and procedures
  • Manages the classroom effectively
  • Maintains discipline in the classroom and fosters a safe productive learning environment
  • Takes daily attendance
  • Compiles a report of the day for the teacher that includes student attendance, lesson plan progress, and discipline issues
  • Maintains a tidy and safe classroom for students
  • Oversees the use of classroom supplies and equipment
  • As part of the college's risk management tool, completes annual mandatory compliance training
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or higher
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
Additional Information:

Classification: Part‑Time

Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour $150 per day

Hours: Up to 29 hours per week

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt
