Job Description
The Student Learning Services program supports the academic and learning development of all student‑athletes at the University of South Florida. Our goal is to equip students with the skills and strategies they need to excel in their courses and throughout their academic career at USF, fostering autonomous and self‑sufficient learning.
Responsibilities- Complete beginning‑of‑semester and mid‑semester training.
- Conduct tutor sessions of at least one hour, scheduled according to tutor and student‑athlete availability.
- Evaluate tutors at varying points within the academic semester.
- Manage student‑athlete expectations and accountability.
- Adhere to policies and procedures.
- Maintain caseload management.
- Build academic skills in Reading, Writing, Time‑Management/Organization, Note‑Taking, and Study/Test‑Taking.
- One‑hour sessions, traditionally one‑on‑one.
- Scheduled based on tutor, student‑athlete availability, and course need.
- Sessions held during FFSAEC hours:
Monday‑Thursday 8‑8 pm;
Friday 8‑5 pm.
- $14/hr.
- Current USF student.
- Over 3.25 GPA.
- Minimum B+ in courses tutored.
- Minimum 5 hours per week; session hours cannot be guaranteed.
- Minimum of two full‑time semesters at USF.
- Resume required.
- Copy of unofficial USF transcripts required.
