Job Description
Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in real estate and finance. Teaching experience with synchronous and asynchronous online courses is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience and those who have published, or are able to publish, in reputable real estate and finance journals.
Job DescriptionIdeal candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in real estate and finance. Teaching experience with synchronous and asynchronous online courses is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience and those who have published, or are able to publish, in reputable real estate and finance journals.
The chosen candidate is also expected to contribute to the real estate program and support the real estate center, with an emphasis on student success and outreach. Additional responsibilities include engaging in activities to attract new students to the program, maintaining AACSCB academic or professional qualifications, and serving the university and professional communities.
ResponsibilitiesAn instructor’s normal teaching load is four courses per semester (Fall and Spring) during the academic year. This load may be reduced for special service duties. The Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and a concentration in the PhD program. Faculty members may also teach in the MBA, Executive MBA, and DBA programs. The school offers a strong mix of collegiality and scholarship in a friendly and welcoming environment.
The faculty are research-active, with recent publications in high-quality finance and real estate journals. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- A terminal qualification (PhD or DBA) in real estate, finance, or a closely related field in business and economics from an AACSB-accredited institution (in-process terminal degrees acceptable if all coursework is completed by May 2027 and a successful dissertation by August 2027).
- Evidence of excellence in teaching real estate or related courses and ability to teach upper-level and/or graduate courses at an AACSB-accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated real estate thought leadership.
- Professional experience in real estate and the ability to engage with the business community.
- Meeting classification as a “scholarly academic” according to current AACSB standards.
