Position SummaryMissionary Christian School is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and passionate Middle/High School History Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a heart for Christian education, a strong knowledge of history and social studies instruction, and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning through a biblical worldview.
This teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a positive classroom environment, maintaining clear communication with students and parents, and supporting the spiritual and academic development of middle and high school students.
Primary Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe Middle/High School History Teacher may be assigned courses such as:
- Middle School History / Social Studies
- U.S. History
- World History
- Civics / Government
- Related social studies courses as assigned
The Middle/High School History Teacher will:
- Plan and deliver effective, engaging, and age-appropriate history/social studies lessons for middle and high school students
- Teach course content from a biblical worldview, helping students connect historical events, civic responsibility, and cultural understanding with Christian truth and values
- Prepare lesson plans, classroom activities, projects, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with course objectives
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment that supports student learning and growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents
- Maintain accurate grade records, attendance, and classroom documentation
- Communicate professionally and consistently with parents, administration, and staff regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Participate in faculty meetings, school events, chapel services, professional development, and other school activities as required
- Model Christian character, integrity, professionalism, and a servant’s heart in all interactions
- Support the mission, vision, and spiritual life of Missionary Christian School
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects Christian character and biblical values
- Active involvement in a Bible-believing local church
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Social Studies, or a related field
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with middle and high school students
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to Christian education and the mission of Missionary Christian School
- Ability to integrate faith and learning with wisdom, balance, and biblical conviction
- Professionalism, organization, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
- Prior teaching experience in middle school and/or high school
- Experience teaching U.S. History, World History, Civics, or related secondary social studies courses in a classroom setting
