Assistant Teaching Professor in Mathematics

Position Details

The Department of Mathematics in The University of Tampa's College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education invites applicants for one full-time, non-tenure-track, annually renewable position as Assistant Teaching Professor/Lecturer for the academic year 2027-28.

Successful candidates will have at least a master's degree in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, or other related fields. Candidates with a master’s degree will be hired as Lecturer, while those holding the terminal degree will be hired as Assistant Teaching Professor. All candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, engaging students in learning beyond the classroom, and university service.

The successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in teaching lower-level courses in Mathematics (Introductory Algebra, Introduction to Statistics, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Finite Mathematics, and Calculus for Business). The teaching load is four, 4-credit courses per semester. Faculty may have the opportunity to teach in the summer for additional compensation.
