Job Description

The School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS) at the University of South Florida (Tampa campus) seeks to fill a 9-month, full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of American Politics position. The start date of the position will be August 7, 2027. Salary is negotiable and dependent upon qualification and experience.

The School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS) at the University of South Florida (Tampa campus) seeks to fill a 9-month, full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of American Politics position. The start date of the position will be August 7, 2027. Salary is negotiable and dependent upon qualification and experience.

The successful candidate will pursue original research in the field of American Politics and teach four courses per year (2/2 semester schedule).

A Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be accepted, but the degree must be conferred by appointment start date.

Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research and teaching examine any of the following:
American Political Institutions, American Political Development, political parties and movements, urban politics, women and politics, and/or indigenous politics.
