• Teaching
  - Teach medical students and residents and other designated learners about in-patient and out-patient internal medicine; with the majority of effort involving supervising internal medicine residents in an in-patient setting. Position may also do precepting medical students in an ambulatory clerkship.
• Research
  - Assist in molecular studies of the malaria parasite. Creation and implementation of a research plan on functional genomics of the parasite. Assist USF Health faculty in grant preparation and publication submission. Supervision of graduate students or post-doctoral fellows in molecular biology of the malaria parasite
• Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
• Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
• Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
• May represent the university, college/school, or department.

• PhD, MD, MD/PhD terminal degree from an accredited institution in medicine or life sciences, biology, or related discipline.
• At least five years relevant research experience in molecular biology and parasitology.
• Experience with molecular laboratory techniques, including aseptic culture and molecular genetics of the malaria parasite.

• Strong track record of peer reviewed publications in parasitology.
• Experience in malaria parasite culture
• Experience in genetic manipulation of the malaria parasite
• Expertise in genomics data.
• Experience in CRISPR/cas9 design
• Experience participating on funded projects.
